Established in the 90’s, the annual “Shop with a Cop” program is a heartwarming tradition where the Burbank Police Department actively participates in a philanthropic holiday shopping initiative to support those in need.
“The goal of the event is to provide less fortunate children with a friendly holiday experience they won’t soon forget while building stronger community partnerships with law enforcement,” emphasizes Sergeant Brent Fekety.
Every year, the Burbank Housing Corporation identifies 30 children based on family finances. Officers, demonstrating love and compassion, guid the children through a shopping spree, helping them select items from toys, makeup, clothing, and candy. Each child is presented with a Holiday Gift bag filled with treats and goodies.
