The Burbank Police Awards Luncheon is a time to honor and recognize the outstanding achievements of the men and women of the Burbank Police Department and our community.

The Matthew Pavelka Scholarship Awards Program was established in honor of Burbank Police Officer Matthew Pavelka, who was killed in the line of duty on November 15, 2003. Scholarships are awarded to high-school seniors who have demonstrated outstanding effort in pursuit of an educational or vocational goal. The purpose is to motivate students to dedicate themselves more thoroughly and responsibly to their education and training, to encourage them to strive for excellence and distinction in whatever field they choose.

BPF would like to thank Eagle Scout Daniel Wilke for the work he did on the BPD Shooting Range. His work included repairing and replacing agility and training obstacles along with repairing the storage shed. See some of the before and after photos of Daniel’s hard work!
